The NFD01.1-440-008 is a three-phase mains filter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the NFD Mains Filters series. Installed between the plant power bus and a group of drive controllers, the unit attenuates conducted interference and limits unwanted harmonics generated by switching power electronics before they can return to the supply network. By providing line conditioning at the cabinet input, it supports EMC conformity, helps stabilize incoming power for connected servo inverters, and reduces the transfer of external electrical noise into multi-axis drive systems. This makes it suitable for cabinets where several drives share the same incoming supply and line-side interference must be controlled.

During normal service the filter carries a 8 A rated current, allowing it to support small and medium drive groups without overheating during continuous operation. It is designed for a 440 V nominal phase-to-phase voltage on a three-phase utility feed, so it matches common industrial power distribution used in automated machinery. An enclosure classification of IP10 means live parts are guarded against accidental contact, but the device still needs to be installed inside a closed cabinet where dust and moisture are managed by the surrounding enclosure. For occasional overloads it tolerates 1.5×In for 1 min/h, which allows short demand peaks without immediate shutdown and describes the filter's short-term thermal capacity. The rated current and overload limit correspond to the expected combined demand of the connected drive group.

The filter has a dielectric withstand rating of 2125 VDC line-to-line and 2800 VDC line-to-protective-earth, showing the insulation strength of its internal isolation paths under elevated test stress. This withstand test is held for 2 s at a stabilized ambient of 25 °C, so the measurement is performed under controlled conditions rather than under varying installation temperatures. A minimum ground conductor cross-section of 10 mm² is required so leakage current can be diverted safely to earth without exceeding permissible touch voltage. The protective-earth connection is an essential part of the installation arrangement for this filter.
