The MTS-R02.1-M1-B1-S4-NN-FW is installed inside an RMB02.2 rack together with the CNC controller unit. It is recommended you leave gaps between modules in order to be able to install additional modules in the future. The rack is to be mounted on a DIN rail inside a switchgear cabinet. You can also install it directly onto the mounting plate using the provided holes. Like other MTS.R02, it requires two slots. The MTS-R02.1-M1-B1-S4-NN-FW comes with three additional module locations namely U1, U2, and U3 which enable connection of optional interfaces. It features an SPS module without a coprocessor, B1-S4-NN configuration, and RECO unit mechanical design.
The firmware is ordered as a separate item. The RS232 programming interface enables the interconnection of the MTS-R02.1-M1-B1-S4-NN-FW with other SPS modules in a network and connection of a programmer or PC. It stores data such as retentive and SPS user program which is lost if storage time exceeds six months. The rack in which it is installed also houses the CNC controller MTC-R.
