The Rexroth MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW EP is CNC controller which his part of the Rexroth MTC product line. This device is available in the form of a ISA plug in card and is designed for installation in industrial computers. It is compatible with BTV20 and BTV30 computers. The BTV20 is intended for automated serial production with primary demands for uniformity, standardization and best possible customer use. The BTV30 is intended as a universal user and programming terminal for standard machine tools. Every MTC-P01.2 card comes with one integrated axis processor which can control 8 drives. The MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW EP has two additional axis processors. Therefore the module can control a maximum of 24 drives. The card comes with fiber optic SERCOS interface for card to drive communication. Each axis processor has its own SERCOS interface.

Therefore the MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW EP has three SERCOS interface. Each interface connects to a fiber loop which connects up to 8 drives. The loop begins and ends at the controller. The optical output of the controller (transmitter) is connected to the optical input of the first drive (receiver). The output of the first drive is connected to the input of the next drive, and so on. The output of the last drive is connected to the controller input. Plastic and glass fibers have different maximum distances which need to be considered during system planning. The MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW EP has 1 Megabyte of RAM. The MTC-P01.2-M1-A2-A2-NN-FW EP is an export restricted module which has restrictions on the number of axes that can interpolate with other axes.
