Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the MSS382F-0018-FA-N0CN-S025 as part of the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. This liquid-cooled torque motor is intended for the direct, gearless drive of large rotary axes and other installations that require accurate low-speed motion in industrial automation. The stator and rotor mount directly to the load and machine frame, so the control system can manage position feedback without the mechanical play introduced by belts or gearboxes.
The motor provides a continuous mechanical output of 40.9 kW at a rated shaft speed of 180 rpm, while sustaining a shaft torque of 2170 Nm at a phase current of 83.6 A. A torque constant of 26.15 Nm/A relates the drive current to the produced torque and supports proper inverter sizing. Internal channels carry coolant at 14.4 liters per minute to remove the 10 kW of power loss generated in the windings. Crosswise and longitudinal inductances of 17.5 mH and 13 mH, together with a winding resistance of 0.9 Ω, establish the electrical time constants that the controller must manage during dynamic current regulation. The nine pole pairs support high torque density at the specified low speed.
The motor can deliver up to 4500 Nm during short overload events, allowing equipment to overcome breakaway friction or process peaks without stalling. A back-EMF gradient of 1842 V/1000 rpm establishes the required DC-bus voltage for field-oriented control. Thermal saturation occurs slowly because of a thermal time constant of 8.7 min, permitting intermittent overload without an immediate temperature increase. The stator weighs 262 kg, adding mass that dampens vibration and helps transfer heat through the cooling jacket. The motor is suited to heavy-duty indexing tables, large extruder screws, and other applications that require constant torque at very low speeds.
