Product Description:
The MSS382F-0018-FA-N0CN-NNNN synchronous motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. This liquid-cooled machine supplies high continuous torque in compact automation axes. Within a motion system, it acts as the primary mover, converting drive current into rotary output for presses, extruders, or machining spindles. The model designation indicates its frame size, winding code, and cooling style, helping ensure compatibility with the selected drive and mechanical interface.
Operation is permitted at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level, and the motor remains within its thermal limits when the surrounding air does not exceed 40 °C. The laminated stator generates a radial magnetic pull of 27,280 N, so the housing and bearing supports must accommodate this force. Continuous heat is removed by a closed cooling circuit that requires a coolant flow rate of 14.4 L/min. Power conductors with a cross-sectional area of 2 × 16.0 mm² connect to the stator terminals, limiting resistive losses during sustained high-current operation.
The motor can operate at ambient temperatures as low as 0 °C and withstand an axial magnetic attraction of 870 N on the shaft. Cooling remains stable when the system pressure stays below 6 bar and the pressure drop across the cooling jacket does not exceed 1.0 bar. Two threaded ports, a G 1/2 inlet and an M30 × 1.5 outlet, provide connections for the cooling hoses. The braided connection strand has a diameter of 30 mm, which supports strain relief where the cable enters the cabinet wall. The enclosure has an IP00 protection class and must be installed inside a guarded housing. Temperature feedback is provided by a KTY84-130 sensor for the windings and an SNM.150.DK probe in the coolant path.
