Product Description:
The MSS272B-0080-FA-N0CN-NNNN is a stator for synchronous kit spindle motors manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied through the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. As the stationary magnetic component of a modular spindle assembly, it generates an electromagnetic field that interacts with a separate rotor to produce torque in high-precision machining centers and other automated equipment. The 0080 winding variant establishes the stator’s electrical characteristics, while frame size 272 and frame length B establish its geometric profile for medium-diameter spindles. This modular format allows the stator and rotor to be integrated directly into a spindle housing rather than installed as a conventional enclosed motor.
The standard design uses a stator-cooling jacket that surrounds the laminated core and transfers heat away from the windings. Heat is removed by a liquid-cooling circuit, whose inlet and outlet are positioned on the axial face for access within the spindle assembly. The cooling jacket has two threaded ports to accommodate the required fluid connections. Thread A is G 1/2, while thread B is M30 × 1.5, allowing different hose couplings to be attached to the cooling circuit. The cooling arrangement supports continuous operation at a rated speed of 800 rpm without requiring an external air blower. The axial cable connection also supports routing within compact spindle housings where radial clearance is limited.
Electrical power reaches the coils through a 1.5 m power cable supplied with flying leads, so a separate connector is not required at the stator housing. The assembly has an IP00 protection rating and must be installed inside a machine enclosure that shields it from contact, fluids, chips, and other contaminants. Its Class F insulation withstands the elevated winding temperatures associated with intensive operating cycles. Permitted ambient air temperatures range from 0 to +40 °C, which accommodates typical climate-controlled industrial facilities. The stator is supplied without a motor encoder, allowing an external feedback device to be selected according to the spindle’s positioning and speed-control requirements. Because the power conductors leave the stator axially, they can be routed along the spindle body without occupying additional radial space.
