The MSS272B-0065-FA-N0CN-NNNN is a stator section manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. Delivered as a bare stationary assembly, it generates the electromagnetic field for synchronous kit spindle motors used in machine tools and automated spindle systems. Supplying only the stator allows the rotor to be mounted directly on the work shaft, shortening the drive chain and improving radial stiffness in compact spindle housings. This arrangement also permits the surrounding machine structure to support the motor components without requiring a conventional motor housing.
Power reaches the windings through a 1.5 m power cable with flying leads, and the conductors exit along the spindle axis through a cable-conducted axial interface. Heat generated in the windings is removed by a stator cooling jacket, with the coolant inlets and outlets positioned axially to keep hose routing aligned with the motor bore. Two threaded ports, G 1/2 and M30 × 1.5, accept standard industrial fittings for connection to an external chiller. Continuous fluid circulation provides liquid cooling, allowing the stator to maintain rated torque while controlling winding temperature. The assembly uses frame size 272 and frame length B, which establish its physical dimensions and mounting envelope within the spindle housing.
Electrical insulation is rated as Class F, providing thermal resistance for the stator windings during normal operation. The assembly has an IP00 protection rating because the machine structure must enclose it and prevent contact with exposed components. The synchronous magnetic system is tuned for a nominal speed of 650 rpm, while winding variant 0065 supports high spindle torque at low rotational speed. The permitted ambient temperature ranges from 0 °C to +40 °C, and the external cooling system must remove additional heat if surrounding conditions exceed this range. The unit is supplied without a motor encoder, so the spindle requires a separate feedback device for closed-loop speed or position control. The FA construction code indicates the standard mechanical option set used with the axial power-lead arrangement on this B-length stator.
