Product Description:
The MSS162J-0500-FR-N0CN-NNNN is supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. It is a bare stator for synchronous kit spindle motors and is intended to be built directly into a machine’s housing, where it forms the stationary section of the electromagnetic field system. By carrying three-phase winding sets, the stator converts drive current into a rotating field that couples with a permanent-magnet rotor, enabling precise speed and torque control in high-dynamic machining and automation tasks.
The unit employs a stator-cooling jacket that surrounds the winding stack; this integrated channel allows coolant to extract heat at the outer diameter instead of relying on ambient air. Its heat exchanger uses liquid cooling, which maintains low thermal resistance so continuous spindle operation remains possible at elevated power densities. Power exits the stator through an axially routed cable, meaning the supply leads run parallel to the motor axis and simplify routing within the enclosure. A factory-installed 1.5 m power cable with flying leads is provided, allowing the conductors to be trimmed and terminated as needed for the installation. The windings use Insulation Class F, permitting a maximum winding temperature of 155 °C and providing a margin for brief overload conditions before thermal limits are reached.
The mechanical envelope corresponds to frame size 162, while the lamination stack has frame length J; these dimensions guide the selection of the mating rotor and bearing arrangement. Because the stator has an IP00 protection rating, it must be installed inside an enclosed spindle housing that prevents moisture, particles, and accidental contact from reaching energized components. The permitted ambient temperature range is 0 to +40 °C, allowing the magnetic materials and winding insulation to remain within acceptable operating limits during continuous industrial use. Proper integration into the machine housing must also provide stable mechanical support for the stator and maintain the required clearance from the rotor. Coolant connections should be arranged so flow through the jacket remains unobstructed while the axially routed conductors remain protected from strain and abrasion.
