Product Description:
The MSS162F-0310-FA-N0CN-NNNN is a liquid-cooled synchronous motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MSS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. It serves as a direct-drive prime mover in industrial automation, supplying regulated rotary motion to presses, extruders, and high-load positioning modules. Heat is extracted through an external coolant jacket instead of airflow, so the motor can sustain elevated torque density while remaining compact enough for installation without a cabinet.
During continuous duty, the motor delivers 90 Nm of shaft torque and up to 31.20 kW of mechanical power. These continuous ratings are supported by a torque constant of 1.41 Nm/A, meaning the drive must supply proportionate current to reach the commanded torque. Electromagnetic response is governed by a longitudinal inductance of 1.1 mH. This low inductance permits fast current rise times, improving speed control in rapidly cycling axes. Copper losses are limited by a winding resistance of 0.224 Ω, which helps maintain thermal equilibrium inside the 306-mm-long cooling jacket. An outside diameter of 180 mm provides space for the water channels, while the IP00 protection code requires the assembly to be housed inside a user-supplied enclosure.
The motor can produce a peak torque of 200 Nm during transient overloads, supported by a maximum phase current of 170 A. If motion stops abruptly, the control system may command a holding current of 64 A to maintain position without a mechanical brake. Stable thermal operation requires a coolant flow of 3.0 L/min at an inlet pressure no greater than 6 bar. This flow removes heat from the stator before the winding insulation reaches its temperature limit. Power conductors with a cross-sectional area of 16 mm² minimize voltage drop between the inverter and the motor terminals.
