The Bosch Rexroth MSK101D-0300-NN-M2-AG2-RNNN is a synchronous servo motor. It is known as a servo motor because it is equipped with a digital sensor known as an encoder. The function of the encoder is to measure operating parameters including speed and position. These parameter measurements are sent as feedback to the controller that controls motor operation. The controller uses motor feedback to calculate the difference between operating parameter values and desired parameter values. The controller uses the difference between operating and desired values to modulate its output. The controller output is fed to the motor, which adjusts its speed and position accordingly. This is an example of a closed-loop control system that is highly suited to high-performance industrial applications. MSK motors are widely used for industrial applications such as paper processing machines, food processing machines and robotics.

The MSK101D-0300-NN-M2-AG2-RNNN is designed for natural convection. Operators can also use the motor with surface cooling. The choice of cooling is dictated by application requirements: surface cooling can sustain higher loads. The MSK101D-0300-NN-M2-AG2-RNNN motor is equipped with an optical multiturn absolute encoder with EnDat 2.1 interface. The encoder is rated for 2048 signal periods. The motor has a smooth shaft with sealing ring. The MSK101D-0300-NN-M2-AG2-RNNN is also equipped with a 70 Nm holding brake. The housing of the MSK101D-0300-NN-M2-AG2-RNNNis designed with increased concentricity and run out according to DIN 42955.
