The Bosch Rexroth MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-LP2-NNNN is a digital servo motor. It belongs to the MSK synchronous motor product line. A synchronous motor is one whose shaft speed is synchronized to the input current frequency. The motor gets electrical power from a servo controller. The job of the controller is to control not only motor speed but also torque and position. A motor sensor, known as an encoder, measures motor speed and torque. These measurements, known as feedback, are used by the controller to calculate the difference between the desired and actual values of speed and torque. The controller varies its output based on the difference between desired and actual motor parameter values. An operator programs the controller with desired motor parameter values. Controller programming should be done prior to system commissioning.

The MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-LP2-NNNN is an advanced servo motor with several integrated features that include a holding brake, and integrated encoder, and a shaft with a keyway. The holding brake works according to the electrical-release principle. Its holding torque is 70 Nm. The brake is a safety device that prevents shaft movement at standstill. The motor encoder is a singleturn optical encoder. Singleturn encoders provide feedback within a single shaft revolution. Multi-turn encoders are also available for MSK motors. In addition to a keyway, the motor shat includes a shaft seal. The MSK100C-0450-NN-S1-LP2-NNNN is an IP65 rated motor that is safe from dust and water coming from low-pressure jets. You can use the motor with either natural convection or surface cooling. Compared to natural convection, the motor delivers higher levels of torque and current output with surface cooling.
