Product Description

The MSK100B-0450-NN-S1-BG1-NNNN is an IP65-rated digital servo motor. It is designed and produced by Bosch Rexroth. The motor works in combination with a drive controller that controls motor speed and output torque. Typical applications for MSK motors include robotics, metal-forming machines, machine tools and packaging machines. Device types with different driving powers and different interfaces are available for an application-specific use of MSK motors. Control and monitoring of MSK motors can require connection of supplementary sensors and actuators. A user manual supplied with the motors lists relevant safety and installation instructions that must be followed. Proper installation is one of the main factors that guarantees reliable motor performance. To minimize risk of installation errors, equipment damage and injury, Bosch recommends that only trained and experienced personnel should handle MSK motors. The MSK100B-0450-NN-S1-BG1-NNNN is a feature-rich motor with several factory-installed options.

The motor is equipped with an electrically-released holding brake. It also features an optical encoder and a plain output shaft. The brake operates at 24 Volts DC and its holding torque rating is 32 Nm. The motor shaft has a seal that protects motor bearings from dust and moisture. The seal also prevents motor oil leakage. However the seal undergoes wear and tear and must be replaced periodically. The singleturn motor encoder supports Hiperface. The main advantage of singleturn encoders is that they provide feedback inside a single shaft revolution. Location of the motor power socket is on side B of the housing. The motor housing design is standard. The MSK100B-0450-NN-S1-BG1-NNNN is a motor designed for convection cooling. Optional cooling fans for MSK motors are available from Bosch and allow motor operation with surface cooling.
