The MSK servo motors in this drive system are compact, flexible motors with precise encoder systems.

The MSK100A-0450-NN-S1-AG0-NNNN is a Bosch Rexroth MSK motor fitted with a plain output shaft for a non-positive shaft-hub connection with zero backlash. Similar to other servo motors in this series, it has a shaft sealing ring designed in line with DIN 3760 – design A to prevent fluids from entering through the shaft. The motor’s maximum speed is 6,000 revolutions per minute, while its theoretical maximum torque is 54.0Nm. It has four pole pairs and a rotor with a moment of inertia of 0.01100 kgm². Its housing design supports cooling by natural convection, as heat is transferred to the ambient air and the walls of its construction. Two inbuilt temperature monitoring systems are present here to prevent damage caused by thermal overload: the temperature sensor and the temperature model.

One major reason for the high operational reliability of the MSK100A-0450-NN-S1-AG0-NNNN is its sealed housing with an Ingress Protection rating of IP 65, according to EN 60529. This means that the motor is safe from the penetration of multidirectional water jet. It is also dustproof, touch-proof, and suitable for risk-free operation in poor environmental conditions. Its black (RAL9005) 2K epoxy resin coating based on epoxy polyamide resin in water displays high chemical resistance to dilute acids, alkaline solutions, current mineral oils, water, and sewage. This housing coat also has limited resistance to hydraulic oils and organic solvents.
