MSK075E-0450-FN-S1-UG0-NNNN is a Bosch Rexroth industrial servo motor. It is a synchronous motor with an integrated encoder. A synchronous motor is an AC electric motor in which the rotation of the rotor is synchronized with the frequency of the supply current. The rotor rotates at a constant speed, determined by the frequency of the supply current and the number of pole pairs in the stator. A servo motor is a type of motor that is commonly used in control systems for precise positioning. It typically consists of a DC motor, a gear train, a position-sensing device and control electronics. Servo motors are widely used in applications such as robotics, industrial automation, and radio-controlled models. They are known for their high precision and ability to hold a position accurately.

Bosch provides six types of encoder for MSK motors: three of these are singleturn encoders and three are multiturn encoders. The MSK075E-0450-FN-S1-UG0-NNNN motor is equipped with an optical singleturn encoder rated for 128 signal periods. It supports the Hiperface communication protocol. Hiperface is designed to replace the traditional analog sin/cos signals used in encoder feedback systems. The protocol uses a differential line driver and receiver to transmit data, which improves noise immunity and allows for longer cable runs. Hiperface protocol can transfer up to 32 digital inputs and 32 digital outputs, including position, speed, direction, and status information, in addition to the standard encoder signals. It also includes cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for data integrity and error detection. The MSK075E-0450-FN-S1-UG0-NNNN motor has a standard IP65 rated housing. The motor is designed for liquid cooling. It has a plain shaft and a rotatable 240-degree electrical connector.
