The MSK071D-0300-NN-S1-UG0-NSNN is a MSK series motor. It is developed by Bosch Rexroth. The motor has a standard and extended housing design that complies with device group II, categories 3G and 3D according to EN 60079 ff. Three other types of housing design are available for MSK071D motors. The motor is supplied without an optional holding brake. The brake can be ordered separately if required. Shaft on the MSK071D-0300-NN-S1-UG0-NSNN is plain and includes a sealing ring. The function of the shaft seal is twofold: prevent oil leakage and protect the motor from environmental contaminants. The seal wears out during motor use and requires periodic replacement. MSK motors also support shafts with a keyway. The combination of a shaft seal, sealed housing and sealed connectors leads to a good protection rating i.e. IP65 for the motor.

This protection rating indicates total protection from dust and low pressure liquid jets. With this protection rating the MSK071D-0300-NN-S1-UG0-NSNN can be used under adverse environmental conditions. Power and feedback cables that connect the motor to a drive controller terminate on respective power and feedback connectors on the motor housing. Both of these connectors are 240-degree rotatable. The MSK071D-0300-NN-S1-UG0-NSNN includes an integrated single turn encoder. Single turn encoders provide feedback inside a single revolution of the motor shaft. Cooling method for which the motor is designed is natural convection. This cooling method relies on the flow of ambient air for heat dissipation. Air can only flow freely if any objects that obstruct air flow are removed. The recommended ambient temperature for motor operation is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius.
