These can be found in the MSK family of servo motors which are one of the IndraDyn S motors of the Rexroth IndraDrive system. These synchronous servo motors are more flexible than the average servo motor as they can be customized to suit various kinds of equipment as specified by the user. This allows them to be used in applications that are beyond regular servo motor standards. The MSK050B-0600-NN-S2-UP1-RNNN is a synchronous servo motor in the MSK family.

Equipped with an optical, single-turn encoder with EnDat interface, the B-length MSK050B-0600-NN-S2-UP1-RNNN is able to provide information on the rotor position of the motor. This is necessary for adequate control of the motor speed and position. The encoder also features a data memory for the safe adaptation of the motor to its drive control device and for an easy and quick startup. Natural convection is the cooling method utilized by this synchronous servo motor and its electrical connection is by a plug, rotatable up to 240o.

The MSK050B-0600-NN-S2-UP1-RNNN possesses an electrically-released holding brake for holding the motor axes in position at standstill when the ‘controller enable’ signal is off.
