This direct connection supports precise positioning in presses, winders, and machine tools while avoiding the backlash associated with gear-driven systems. The component is the rotor of an MBT torque motor and is supplied as a standalone subassembly for use with the corresponding stator. Its open design also accommodates the liquid-cooling circuit required within the machine assembly.
The rotor has an internal diameter of 410 mm and a frame size of 530, allowing it to fit the stator cavity with the same designation. Its mass distribution produces a moment of inertia of 2.3 kg·m², which the drive controller uses when calculating acceleration and deceleration ramps. Accurate inertia data helps the control system reduce overshoot during rapid indexing movements.
