Product Description:
The MRT290E-3N-0200-NNNN is a ring-shaped synchronous torque motor supplied by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MRT Synchronous IndraDyn T Motors series. Designed as a frameless kit that pairs with a separate rotor ring, it converts stator current directly into continuous rotary torque for indexing tables, rotary knife drives, and assembly turntables used throughout industrial automation. The open-center architecture lets mechanical shafts, pneumatic lines, or vision cables pass through the motor while the surrounding stator generates electromagnetic force under control of an external drive, eliminating backlash from gear or belt transmissions. This direct-drive layout can also reduce compliance in the drivetrain and support smooth low-speed motion when the axis is properly matched to the control system.
An axial attractive force of 290 N pulls the rotor toward the stator, so the housing flange must withstand that preload. The stator ring provides 20 equally spaced fixing holes, and each hole is threaded to M6 / 14 mm deep for attachment to a precision face plate. With an outside diameter of 290 mm, the stator leaves a clear internal bore of 200 mm for service lines or a central shaft. The rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.174 kg·m², which affects acceleration behavior and the response of the connected axis. Accurate centering between the stator and rotor helps keep the air gap uniform and supports smooth rotation.
During operation, the magnetic circuit generates a radial attractive force of 2490 N, so the machine frame needs rigid bearing support and careful mechanical alignment. The motor can track commanded profiles up to 2000 rpm, although higher-speed operation increases voltage demand and heat generation. Because the assembly is delivered with an IP00 protection code, it must be installed inside a guarded enclosure that provides insulation and protection from debris and accidental contact. The stator mass is 15 kg, which adds thermal capacity while keeping the component manageable during machine assembly. In many installations, the surrounding structure also carries the encoder and the cooling arrangement selected for the application.
