Internal Product Review
The MRS312H-2N-0160-NNNN is an open three-phase synchronous kit motor from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. Permanent-magnet rotor construction and converter-mode supply give the unit excellent dynamic potential in precision motion systems. IP00 construction makes the model best suited for protected machine integration, a technically refined choice for custom motor assemblies.

Product Description:
The MRS312H-2N-0160-NNNN is a three-phase synchronous kit motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MRS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. Delivered as a frameless assembly, it is integrated directly into the mechanical structure of large servo axes where minimal drivetrain length and high torque density are required. When driven from an IndraDrive converter, the motor forms the electromagnetic core of positioning systems found in presses, packaging machines, and indexing tables. Because the unit is supplied as a kit motor rather than a housed motor, the surrounding machine structure must provide the bearing arrangement, alignment surfaces, and external guarding.
The operating envelope is capped at an ambient temperature of 40 °C, and operation above this point requires derating to keep winding temperature within limits. Installation is permitted up to 1000 m above sea level without corrective thermal calculations. Acoustic emission during rated load does not exceed 75 dB(A), which helps characterize sound output in enclosed production equipment. The unit carries a protection rating of IP00, so the machine must provide shielding against accidental contact and foreign material. The complete rotor assembly weighs 107.3 kg, and that mass affects axis support, handling, and structural loading during installation.
Electrical power and feedback are routed through a single Connection Cable that links the stator terminals to the drive in converter mode. The motor has an Open (Kit Motor) construction, which allows the active parts to be built directly into a machine axis and removes the need for a separate coupling between motor and load. Dynamic response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 1.146 kg·m², which is relevant when tuning acceleration and deceleration behavior. Continuous torque is produced by a Permanent Magnet excitation system bonded to the steel carrier. This direct-drive layout reduces compliance in the drivetrain and supports accurate positioning during repeated indexing and contouring moves.
