The MRS242F-1N-0110-NNNN is a frameless synchronous motor kit produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the MRS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. Supplied as separate rotor and stator components, the unit is intended for direct integration into machine frames where compact, high-torque electric drives are required in industrial automation. Its primary role is to deliver precise rotary motion without the housing or bearing assemblies found in finished motors, making it suitable for spindle drives, printing cylinders, and other space-limited applications. The kit format also allows cooling paths and feedback devices to be placed where the application requires them.
In operation, the rotor and stator must be mounted so that the magnetic forces they generate are managed mechanically. The rotor produces an axial pull of 480 N, while the radial component reaches 5,490 N; mounting plates and bearings must absorb these attractive loads to prevent shaft movement. Because the motor is supplied as an open kit motor, there is no native enclosure, and the protection rating is IP00. Any contaminant control or cooling airflow must be provided by the surrounding machine structure. A maximum installation altitude of 1,000 m is recommended so that cooling calculations remain valid and partial discharge within the insulation system is minimized. Short-term transport is allowed up to 80 °C without affecting magnet integrity.
