The MRS142B-2N-0050-NNNN is a frameless synchronous motor set produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MRS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. Instead of a complete housed motor, it is supplied as separate rotor and stator rings so the active parts can be built directly into precision spindles, rotary tables, or compact tool heads where installed space is limited. When paired with a compatible drive controller, the assembly provides electronically commutated rotary motion with the fast response and positioning accuracy expected in machining centers, packaging equipment, indexing systems, and automated test machines.
Within the installed assembly, the rotor and stator generate an axial attractive force of 265 N, so the surrounding spindle structure must absorb that load through its support arrangement. A radial attractive force of 635 N also pulls toward the stator bore, which makes air-gap accuracy and concentric mechanical alignment important during installation. The motor uses a step interference fit to secure the rings in place and to transfer heat from the windings into the host machine structure. The motor has an IP00 rating, so it requires a protective enclosure, and service altitude is limited to 1000 m above sea level.
During operation, the surrounding air must remain between 0 °C and 40 °C so the winding insulation stays within its intended thermal range and the motor can run without unnecessary thermal stress. Internally, the rotor can reach 145 °C before additional derating or forced cooling is needed, which is important in tightly integrated spindle designs where heat builds quickly. To prepare the interference fit, the parts may be chilled to -20 °C before assembly, which helps create a secure press fit without slipping. Long-term storage is permitted up to 60 °C under normal warehouse conditions.
