The MRS102D-2N-0035-NNNN synchronous spindle motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MRS Synchronous IndraDyn H Motors series. Supplied as a stator-rotor kit rather than a housed unit, it is pressed directly into the machine spindle tube so the magnetic gap can be optimized for high torque density. In automated machining centers, pick-and-place robots, or high-speed packaging lines, this embedded design allows precise electronic control of tool speed while eliminating belt drives and reducing inertia.
Its allowable ambient temperature spans from 0 °C to 40 °C, and operation outside this range may shorten the life of the winding insulation and bearing grease. The motor has a protection rating of IP00, so each installation must provide sealing, airflow, and coolant flow to keep chips, moisture, or oil away from the magnetic gap. Rotor-to-stator attraction generates a radial pull of 444 N that loads the spindle bearings and an axial pull of 186 N that acts along the shaft. Reliable performance is maintained up to an installation altitude of 1000 m, where reduced air density still supports standard convection or liquid cooling methods.
To press the rotor safely into its steel carrier, the fit temperature must remain between 135 °C and a maximum of 145 °C, because higher heat can weaken the permanent-magnet material. For shrink-fit assembly, a spindle pre-cool temperature of -20 °C lowers interference so axial pressing force stays within acceptable limits. Once installed, the motor can be stored for service at temperatures from -20 °C to 60 °C and relative humidity not exceeding 95 % without power applied. During transport, the motor withstands 75 % humidity at 30 °C and temperatures down to -20 °C and up to 80 °C without demagnetization or insulation cracks, provided condensation is avoided.
