As the stationary track in a linear motor pair, it works with a moving primary forcer to create direct linear thrust for pick-and-place axes, gantry stages, and transport modules in automated machinery. The secondary requires no power or feedback wiring on the rail itself, reducing potential wear points while supporting precise motion along extended travel paths.

The base plate is made from ferromagnetic steel, providing a low-reluctance return path that increases usable force across the air gap. A line of permanent magnets embedded in the plate establishes the fixed magnetic field required for synchronous operation, so external excitation coils are unnecessary. The assembly has an IP65 protection rating, preventing dust ingress and resisting low-pressure water jets that could otherwise affect its performance. Each magnet row is protected by a nonmagnetic stainless steel sheet cover that resists abrasion and cleaning fluids while maintaining consistent spacing.
