Product Description:
The MLP140Z-0060-FS-N0CN-NNNN is a synchronous linear motor primary section developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MLP Synchronous Linear Motors series. As a thrust-generating element, it mounts directly along a machine axis to deliver controlled linear force without mechanical transmissions. This arrangement serves pick-and-place gantries, portal stages, and high-speed machining modules where precise, rapid positioning is required.
During continuous duty the mover produces 790 N of thrust, which is the force it can sustain continuously without overheating. When the drive electronics demand peak dynamics, the windings may draw up to 25.3 A, so the connected inverter must support that current. Travel commands are executed at a nominal carriage velocity of 120 m/min, giving ample headroom for typical material-handling cycles. The housing is rated IP65, which helps protect internal components from dust and water jets on open factory floors. Winding code 0060 identifies the coil resistance and inductance used with compatible drives.
For short bursts such as acceleration or impact damping, the motor can deliver a maximum thrust of 2140 N, reached when speed is limited to 60 m/min at full excitation. Heat generated in these transients is removed through liquid cooling, which circulates coolant immediately behind the coil plate to stabilize winding temperature while keeping the overall height to only 61.4 mm. The module measures 210 mm in width and 200 mm in depth, so it fits easily between parallel guide rails. Power and feedback conductors are routed through the front face to simplify cable chains, and the housing uses a standard encapsulation method to shield the windings from vibration. With a rated RMS phase current of 4.2 A, the motor sustains light-load motion efficiently, while the size-140 magnetic core provides consistent force density even though no encoder is installed.
