Product Description:
The MLP100C-0090-FS-N0CN-NNNN is a synchronous linear motor primary section manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MLP Synchronous Linear Motors series. It converts electromagnetic interaction directly into thrust, eliminating ballscrews or belts in automated transport, cutting, and positioning modules. When paired with a passive secondary track and a compatible drive controller, the unit delivers precise linear motion across travel lengths used in assembly lines, gantry loaders, and machine-tool tables.
Under continuous operation, the mover produces a thrust of 2310 N while drawing 13 A from the drive. The force is proportional to current, with a force constant of 178 N/A. Heat generated by copper losses is removed through liquid cooling, and a coolant flow of 2.3 L/min through internal channels keeps the active windings within their insulation limits. Wiring is routed through the front of the housing, and the standard encapsulation method seals the coils against condensation. At the nominal velocity of 170 m/min, the primary section supports rapid linear travel for high-speed handling tasks. A voltage constant of 100 Vs/m sets the back-EMF profile, while a winding resistance of 6 Ω and an inductance of 38 mH shape current-loop response.
For short duty peaks, the actuator can generate 7150 N by accepting pulse currents up to 90 A. An inherent attractive load of 10400 N toward the secondary helps maintain a consistent air gap but must be considered in mechanical sizing. At maximum force, speed is limited to 90 m/min by the available drive voltage. Rated power loss reaches 1600 W, so the liquid circuit must maintain adequate flow during operation. Because no encoder is installed, an external position transducer is required for feedback. Standard encapsulation also supports stable operation on bus-voltage-controlled inverters.
