Product Description:
The MLP070C-0120-FT-N0CN-NQNN is a primary section from the MLP Synchronous Linear Motors series engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a synchronous linear motor module, it converts three-phase drive current directly into thrust along a guideway, eliminating gearboxes and ball screws in gantries, pick-and-place axes, and high-speed process lines. Within industrial automation, it supplies controlled linear force and velocity for precise positioning tasks. Because thrust is created directly in the linear axis, the drive can reduce backlash and wear associated with mechanical transmission components.
At continuous duty, the mover generates 1200 N of thrust while drawing a rated phase current of 9.2 A. Its force constant is 130.40 N/A, so each ampere contributes proportionally to forward thrust. The winding resistance is 5.7 ohms, and the winding inductance is 36.2 mH. The unit fits the 070 size platform and reaches a nominal velocity of 180 m/min, but it can accept up to 56.9 A for brief periods to develop 3800 N of peak force. Connection leads are routed through the front of the housing, and no encoder is installed, so external feedback can be selected as needed. The absence of an integrated encoder lets the axis use a separate feedback device that matches the required measuring range and machine layout. A thermal encapsulation method secures the coil package against vibration and coolant exposure.
Liquid cooling stabilizes temperature, and the cooling circuit helps remove heat from the active section during sustained motion. The circuit must pass 1.6 l/min through an internal duct volume of 0.111 l while producing only 0.4 bar of pressure drop. Under these conditions, the mover dissipates 1100 W of loss and maintains an attractive force of 5500 N on the secondary track. When driven to maximum force, the carriage sustains translation up to 120 m/min, and the voltage constant of 75.2 Vs/m reflects the back EMF applied to the inverter.
