MKE servomotors are synchronous and are specifically designed for operation in explosive environments. They render high functionality when used with the manufacturer’s servo drives and comply with ATEX and UL/CSA specifications.

Rexroth MKE motors have a wide power spectrum and are available in multiple configurations according to demand. They are available with either a plain shaft or a shaft with a keyway and come with or without a holding brake. These motors are embedded with permanent magnets made of special materials for low inertia. The entire range of MKE servomotors can function like rotary main as well as servo drive motors. They must be used only with accessories approved by the manufacturer. r

MKE servomotors have a high degree of operational reliability.
The motors have an integrated temperature monitoring system to protect them against overload.
They have IP 65 degree of protection with a completely closed design that makes them suitable for operation under adverse environmental conditions.
The motors can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
The MKE servomotors have high dynamics and overload capability because of the favorable torque-to-inertia mass ratio and heat dissipation from the windings of the stator to the external wall of the housing.

MKE servomotors are widely used in machine tools and metal forming, printing, packaging and paper and food processing machines. The motor surface becomes very hot during operation and must be touched only after about two and a half hours of turning the motor off to avoid the possibility of burns. These motors must always be operated only between 0°C and 40°C and installed at a maximum elevation of 1,000 meters above sea level.

The servomotors have a black RAL9005 paint on their housing. It is not allowed to apply an extra layer of paint over this or repaint them. This can have a negative impact on the surface properties such as electrostatic charging and insulation resistance of the motors. The paint is fully or partially resistant to some agents while it is completely not resistant to concentrated acids and lyes.

The motor shaft and bearings encounter radial and axial forces during operation. The drive elements that are fitted on to the shaft side must be chosen such that the loads are within the specified limits. The motor bearings have a lifespan of 30,000 operating hours as per ISO 281 specifications when they are operated under the permitted ambient temperature range and conditions of use.
