The MKE118D-027-AG0-KUN is a servo motor for potentially explosive areas, built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the MKE Synchronous Motors series. It is intended to drive axial or rotary actuators in automated plants where hazardous vapor or dust may be present. A plain shaft transfers mechanical power through couplings, and an optical single-turn Hiperface encoder provides position feedback so that the connected drive controller can execute closed-loop motion with the required accuracy.

At a 60 K stator overtemperature, the motor can deliver 48.0 Nm of continuous torque while drawing 22.1 A of continuous standstill current. The torque constant is 2.52 Nm/A, allowing the controller to estimate load from phase current. When rapid indexing or acceleration is needed, the electromagnetic system supports a peak torque of 187.0 Nm, and the rotor can reach 3000 rpm without exceeding its mechanical limits. Winding code 027 uses 5.70 mH inductance and 0.350 Ω resistance, and the 154.5 V/1000 rpm voltage constant matches standard IndraDrive power stages. The enclosure carries an IP 65 rating and conforms to UL and CSA housing standards, so internal components are protected against dust and hose-directed water. Operation is specified from 0 to +40 °C, and sound pressure remains at 61.1 dB[A] ±3. Power and sensor conductors are routed through a top-mounted terminal box, and the shaft is sealed, machined with a frontal centering hole, and threaded to DIN 332 DS form. During transient overloads, the windings may draw 99.6 A RMS, aided by a discharge capacity of 20.2 nF that limits voltage spikes. The motor weighs 65.0 kg and uses an S1 encoder with 128 increments. It is supplied without a holding brake.
