The MKE037B-144-AP1-LUNN is an explosion-protected servo motor manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the MKE Synchronous Motors series. Designed for drive axes that operate in hazardous industrial zones, this product converts electrical energy into controlled rotary motion for position or speed loops within automated machinery. Its flame-proof construction supports servo operation where explosive gases or dust may be present while still allowing accurate closed-loop motion. This arrangement allows the motor to drive conveyors, mixers, or process actuators in enclosed production systems without introducing an external ignition source.

Its electromagnetic system is wound in 144 turns, which sets the voltage and torque constants for the size 037 frame. Feedback is produced by 128 encoder increments from the S1 optical disk, and the motor uses a single-turn optical Hiperface encoder so the drive receives absolute rotor position at power-up. This absolute feedback allows the controller to identify rotor position immediately after energizing, which supports closed-loop startup without a separate reference move. Protection against dust and water jets is provided by an IP65 enclosure, and the stator insulation uses class 155 (F). All power and signal conductors exit on the left side and terminate in a sealed terminal box, which simplifies cable routing and keeps the connection area protected.

The motor can operate continuously from 0 to +40 °C. Its construction follows UL/CSA requirements for North American installations in Class I, Division 2 locations. The motor is supplied with a holding brake, so motion can be locked when power is removed and the load can remain in position during a stop. The shaft uses a DIN 6885 keyway, which supports positive torque transmission to the driven element. A positive shaft seal is also fitted to help restrict ingress along the journal.
