The MKD series is a line of motors created and designed by the drive and control company known as Rexroth Bosch Indramat. These high performance motors deliver excellent value and are built to run for years, or even a decade, without worrying about maintenance. MKD motors, like the MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001, are Digital AC Synchronous Motors with a permanent-magnet and communicate through electronic means. 

The MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 has a special SA001 design for better functionality. The drive also has a winding code of 035. The power connection for the MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 uses a connection box that can be positioned to either side A or side B. The MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 has an output shaft with keyway per DIN 6885-1 and uses a radial shaft sealing ring to protect it from possible fluids splashing on the motor. The MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 also has a holding brake to go with its 071 motor size and its 8.0 Nm motor length.

The drive has natural 60K, natural 100K, and surface 60K/100K modes all with different rated data. The natural 60K has a rated torque of 5.2 Nm, a rated current of 2.9 A, rated power of 1.2 kW, and a rated voltage of 333 V. The natural 100K operating mode has a torque rating of 7.5 Nm, rated current of 4.4 A, and a power and voltage rating of 2.5 kW and 349 V. Lastly, the Surface 60K/100K mode of the MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 has a rated torque of 10.2 Nm, 5.7 A rated current, 3.4 kW power rating, and a voltage of 366 V. The maximum speed of the MKD071B-035-KP1-KN-SA001 is 4500 RPM while the rated speed and frequency are 2500 RPM and 167 Hz.
