The MKD112B-048-GP2-BN is a Bosch Rexroth MKD series synchronous motor. Bosch recommends that ambient conditions detailed in the motor documentation should be maintained during motor operation. These include 0 to 40 degrees Celsius ambient temperature and maximum elevation of 3300 feet above sea level. Motor operation can be adversely affected by excessive dust, dirt and shavings, and can in extreme cases can lead to motor failure. Therefore Bosch recommends periodic cleaning of the cooling cribs on the motor so that a sufficiently wide heat radiation surface is achieved. Dirty cooling ribs can prevent heat dissipation through convection which can lead to overtemperature conditions, which in turn can lead to motor damage. Service life of bearings used for the MKD112B-048-GP2-BN is 30,000 hours. The bearings should be replaced if their nominal service life has been reached or running noises are audible during motor operation.
