The MKD112B-024-KG1-BN by Bosch Rexroth Indramat belongs to the family of MKD synchronous motors. It weighs approximately 34 kilograms. Since these motors can be installed in any position desired, it is important to ensure that the motor is aligned and mounted properly before operating machinery. This motor has a holding brake with 22Nm capacity. The motor encoder system comprises resolver feedback with integrated multi-turn absolute encoder. This system aids in positioning the motor and controlling motor speed. When installing the encoder connectors the nut should be securely tightened manually. 

Although the MKD112B-024-KG1-BN offers maintenance free operation, the cooling ribs should be cleaned regularly to provide a large area for heat dissipation. As a standard measure, temperature sensors are fitted in the motor windings for protection against extremes in operational temperature. Heat is dissipated to the outside wall of the housing of the motor from the stator windings. This protects the motor from overloading damage, thus lengthening its operational life. For additional cooling capabilities, blower units can be attached. They operate independently of the drive controller.

The housing of this motor is painted with a black prime coat that resists weathering, damage by lye and chalking.
