The MKD090B-046-KG0-KN is a new generation AC motor produced by Rexroth Indramat. This AC motor weighs about 14 kilograms and is about 400 millimeters long. The motor is integrated with a multi-turn absolute encoder that converts the movements of the motor into a digital signal and then transmits this signal to the drive controller through the motor feedback cable. The motor also features a plain shaft with a shaft sealing ring through which it transmits the kinetic energy it generates to the machine component.
The MKD090B-046-KG0-KN AC motor is also extremely energy-efficient, it can reach a rotational speed as high as 5000min-1 while using a current of about 49.5 Amperes. The rotor inertial of the motor is about 43.0 x 10-4 kilogram per meter square. Unlike other competing AC motor series, the shaft of the MKD090B-046-KG0-KN AC motor is designed with special grease-lubricated bearings which help to reduce the friction generated by the motor’s shaft. The service life of the AC motor is dependent on the axial load and the speed at which the motor of operated, overloading can cause the lubrication at the motor’s shaft to get used up quickly thus reducing the service life of the motor.
The enclosure of the MKD090B-046-KG0-KN AC motor is covered with a prime black coat which protects it from rust and keeps the housing unit in top condition for a long time. Although the motor is resistant to dust, shavings, and other foreign particles, operators should prevent the buildup of these components by cleaning the motor regularly with appropriate equipment. The insulation class of the motor is class F according to DIN VDE 0530 Part 1.
