Product Description:
The MKD090B-046-GG0-KN is a servo motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MKD Synchronous Motors series. As a rotary actuator, it converts drive current from a matched controller into mechanical motion for positioning tasks in automated machinery. The motor is commonly used on transfer lines, gantry axes, and packaging stations where continuous-duty speed regulation and closed-loop torque control are required. In closed-loop operation, the matched drive uses motor feedback to correct speed and position as load conditions change.
At standstill, the motor can deliver 12.0 Nm of continuous torque, so an axis can support that load without overheating under rated conditions. Installation uses a centering diameter of 110 mm and a square flange of 140 mm, which helps align the motor with standard machine interfaces. Power and feedback conductors exit on side B through a molded connection box, which keeps cable routing concentrated at one end of the housing. The housing is rated IP65, and a shaft seal helps maintain that protection around the output journal. Rotor position is measured by resolver feedback, which sends analog sine-cosine signals to the drive for commutation and speed control.
Motion accuracy is supported by a system precision of ±8 angular minutes, which is suitable for indexing tables and moderate-resolution pick-and-place heads. Thermal limits are set by Class F insulation and an allowable ambient range of 0–40 °C, so the motor can operate in standard industrial surroundings without special cooling hardware. The motor uses winding code 046, which matches the nominal current range used by compatible MKD drives. Its output uses a plain shaft without a key, so torque is typically transferred through a clamping hub or similar friction-fit coupling. Because the motor is supplied without a holding brake, static load retention must be provided by drive torque or an external clamp.
