Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the MKD041B-144-FG1-KN within the MKD Synchronous Motors series. This servo motor translates drive commands into precise rotary motion for gantry axes, feeders, and general handling stations in industrial automation. Size code 041 indicates the frame envelope, while length code B gives the motor a mid-range body that fits easily behind machine guarding. The compact housing helps place the motor close to the load, which can reduce coupling compliance and support accurate positioning during repetitive motion.

The mechanical interface uses a flange that measures 82 mm and a centering pilot of 50 mm, so the housing can be aligned concentrically on standard gearboxes or machine plates. Electrical and feedback conductors exit toward Side B and terminate inside a sealed connection box, which keeps cable routing orderly where rear access is preferred. At standstill, the motor can deliver 2.7 Nm of continuous torque for stable position control without overheating. The IP65 enclosure helps protect the stator windings against dust and low-pressure water jets, allowing the motor to be mounted directly on the machine in many installations.

An integrated brake provides 2.2 Nm of holding torque so vertical loads can remain fixed when power is removed. The motor is intended for operation in ambient temperatures from 0 to 40 °C, and the winding system uses class F insulation to withstand normal thermal rise. The winding code 144 identifies the electrical winding used with compatible digital drives. A plain shaft transmits motion without keyways, and the front bearing chamber uses a shaft seal to limit lubricant migration and help keep contaminants away from the bearing area. This shaft style is suited to clamp-based couplings that rely on friction rather than keyed engagement.
