The MHD131D-024-PG1-AN is a durable synchronous motor platform that belongs to the MHD series manufactured at Rexroth. This motor has been designed for dynamic platforms and is used in various kinds of environments. There is a wide number of use cases for this model. It is commonly found used in the woodworking industry, automation systems, paper printing systems, food processing machines, handling machines, machine tools, and material packaging equipment. This model is very well suited for speed control because of its state of the art encoders. The encoder functions with the constant feedback provided about the position and speed and adjusts them according to the programmed values. This motor provides accurate control over speed and position because the encoder is able to feed accurate speed/position data at every instant. The motor is also able to clamp the servo axis in its position in the de-energized state.

The MHD131D-024-PG1-AN’s holding brake is provided with an armature disc that is subjected to a magnetic force when the motor is operating in the de-energized state. The holding brake, using this magnetic force, is able to locate the servo axis in the required position. This synchronous motor is also preferred because of its high torque availability. When the motor speed varies, the constant torque output remains unaffected. This model uses state of the art electronic commutation that is the reason for this model’s peak torque availability. This is a major improvement from the brushed design used in some motors. The brushed design can catch sparks in explosive environments and also provide a low peak available torque.
