The Bosch MHD115B-058-PP0-LA is a synchronous servo motor. It is known as a synchronous motor because its shaft speed is synchronized to the frequency of the input current. It is known as a servo motor because it supports digital servo feedback. The motor includes a sensor known as an encoder. The encoder on the MHD115B-058-PP0-LA is a multiturn absolute encoder. The encoder makes measurements of the motor speed and torque. These measurements are sent to a device, known as a servo controller, that controls the motor. This seal on the motor shaft protect the bearings from external contaminants. MHD motors support an optional holding brake. However the brake is not available on the MHD115B-058-PP0-LA motor. The direction of motor power socket is specified in the order for the motor. There are four options for the motor power socket. The MHD115B-058-PP0-LA motor has a power socket on the left side of the housing. MHD motors are air cooled or liquid cooled devices. For motors with air cooling there is a possibility of natural convection or surface cooling (forced air cooling).
