The MHD112C-024-NG0-RN is provided with a secondary braking mechanism in the form of a holding brake. The holding brake can clamp the motor’s shaft when the motor is being operated in an energized state. The servo axis can be firmly held in its position when the motor is denergized. The armature of the holding brake is under the influence of a magnetic force that enables it to grip the shaft firmly. This synchronous motor is also very useful because of its high peak-torque availability when operated across a broad range of speeds. This is possible because of the electronic commutation used in this model that offers a replacement for the brushed motor design. Another advantage is the spark free design of this model that can be safely operated even in explosive conditions. The motor can be operated at a maximum speed of 4000 rpm.
