Bosch Rexroth has several high-performance servo motors in its product portfolio, one of which is the MDD servo motor. The motors of the MDD series form cost-effective automation systems when they are combined with digital drive controllers from Indramat.
The MDD112C-N-030-N2L-180PB0 is one of the MDD motors by Bosch Rexroth. Like others in the series, it has a high overload capability owing to the efficient elimination of heat from its stator windings to the external walls of its housing. There is also a thermal sensor in these windings to monitor its temperature and prevent damage from thermal overload. Its suitable cooling methods and surface cooling and natural convection, where the heat generated is exchanged with the ambient air due to temperature differences. Since it supports cooling by surface cooling, the motor accommodates extreme loads like continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. This is further aided by its electronic commutation feature, which gives it a high cyclic load capacity.
To prevent harmful activities like weathering, yellowing, and chalky buildup, the housing of the MDD112C-N-030-N2L-180PB0 is coated with a black prime coat with high-level resistance against such. This housing is sealed and will not admit solid extrinsic objects or multidirectional water jet sprays; hence, its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65 according to EN 60529.
