Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth’s MDD servo motors provide high contouring accuracies at high feedrates. They are compact synchronous servo motors whose rotors are made from special permanent magnets. As a result, they have low inertia and are suitable for dynamic operations.
The MDD112C-N-020-N2L-180GA2 is a synchronous servo motor in the MDD series built for cooling by natural convection and surface cooling. It has a sealed housing covered with a black prime varnish that protects it from weathering, yellowing, and chalky buildup. In line with DIN 40050, its Ingress Protection rating is IP 65, indicating that it is touch-proof, dustproof, and safe from the penetration of multidirectional water jet sprays. The motor’s nominal speed is 2,000 revolutions per minute, while its theoretical maximum torque is 97.3Nm. Its brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearings allow its maintenance-free operation, while its compact build gives it a high power-to-weight ratio.
A thermal sensor is built into the MDD112C-N-020-N2L-180GA2 to protect it from damage due to thermal overload. It also has a plain shaft with a shaft sealing ring that guarantees a non-positive shaft-hub connection with zero backlash. Its centering diameter is 180mm, while its rotor’s moment of inertia is 170 x 10-4 kgm2. Electronic commutation is a feature in the MDD model that gives it a high cyclic load capacity so that it supports continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. Its encoder is digital servo feedback with a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. This encoder uses the optical measurement principle and has a data memory where parameters like the motor type name are stored. It reduces the motor’s bootup time and allows its safe adaptation to its drive controller.
