The MDD093C-N-020-N2L-110PA0 is an MDD servo motor by Bosch Rexroth with a thermal sensor in its stator, like other models in this series. This sensor monitors its temperature to prevent overload conditions that can lead to irreversible damage. It also has high overload capability thanks to efficient heat transfer from its windings to the walls of its housing. Since it supports cooling by natural convection and surface cooling, it is ideal for extreme loads like continuous start-stop operations with high repetition rates. The motor’s brushless design and lifetime-lubricated bearing allow it to be operated maintenance-free. It also has a sealed housing rated IP 65 per DIN 40050, as it is dustproof, touch-proof, and impermeable to water jet sprays from different directions. This sealed housing permits its safe operation in adverse environmental conditions.

To speed up the startup of the MDD093C-N-020-N2L-110PA0, its encoder has a data memory where its type name and control loop parameters are stored. The motor feedback type is digital servo feedback to record the motor’s absolute indirect position. It eliminates the need for a separate absolute encoder and saves the position recorded even after power is shut off. Its measurement principle is the optical method, and it has a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes. As a product of Balance Class R according to DIN VDE 0530, it supports demanding applications like grinding machines. Its recommended maximum installation height is 1,000m above sea level.
