The Bosch MDD090C-N-020-N2M-110PA0 is an AC motor. It belongs to the MDD product line. A series of nine motors with different continuous torques and speeds are available for varying customer requirements. MDD motors are used for applications such as textiles, robotics and packaging machines. MDD090 motors are designed for applications that require high precision such as grinding machines. MDD motors are permanent-magnet synchronous motors. The magnets used for the motors are made with rare-earth or iron oxide materials. This allow motor construction with low inertia. The main components of a MDD motor are: stator, rotor shaft, bearings, laminated core with permanent magnets, encoder and optional blocking brake. Use of a brushless design and life-time lubricated bearings makes MDD motors maintenance-free. The IP65 protection rating allow use of MDD motors directly within the working area of the machine.
A temperature sensor built into the motor windings prevents overload damage. Because of a design that supports high radial loads, MDD motors support direct attached to pinions and belt pulleys. MDD motors can be installed in any orientation. The MDD090C-N-020-N2M-110PA0 motor includes an integrated multiturn absolute encoder and supports digital servo feedback. The motor supports a rated speed of 2000 RPM. Cooling methods used to maintain ambient temperatures within recommended values natural convection and surface cooling.
