Product Description:
Handling equipment, robotics, and machine tools are high-precision operations for which Bosch Rexroth created the MDD digital AC motors. These compact motors are notable for numerous features, including low inertia, flexibility, and high synchronous operation features.
The MDD090B-N-040-N2L-110PA1 is a Bosch Rexroth MDD motor with bearings that remain lubricated throughout their service life. These bearings have a nominal service life of 30,000 operating hours and reduce maintenance requirements, improving the motor’s overall reliability. The motor also has a brushless design and a compact size with a high power-to-weight ratio. Its housing design allows its cooling via natural convection and surface cooling. This makes it compatible with extreme loads as seen in continuous start-stop operations with high repetitive frequencies. The power and feedback cables used with this motor meet the IP 65 Ingress Protection standard according to DIN 40 050. It also uses ready-made cables to reduce the work of installation.
Bosch Rexroth equipped the MDD090B-N-040-N2L-110PA1 with a blocking brake of 6.5Nm torque to retain its position even when power is turned off. Its digital servo feedback monitors the relative indirect position and stores this information in the intelligent digital drive. High precision is guaranteed with this encoder type since it uses the optical measurement principle. It also has a system accuracy of ±0.5 angular minutes and a detection range of 4,095 motor revolutions with absolute position detection. Its data memory stores relevant parameters to accelerate the motor’s startup since this information is set upon boot-up. The MDD motor’s nominal speed is 4,000 revolutions per minute and generates a theoretical maximum torque of 38.3Nm. Its rotor’s moment of inertia is 36 x 10-4 kgm2.
