The digital MDD style motors by Bosch Rexroth include synchronous AC servo motors which are magnet-excited with electronic commutation. The digital MDD AC servo motors are available in nine different rotor diameters. They include MDD021, MDD115, MDD025, MDD112, MDD041, MDD093, MDD065, MDD090, and MDD071. The rotors of the digital MDD AC servo motors have permanent magnets, which are made of iron oxide or rare-earth magnetic materials. These materials are used in order to make it possible for construction of motors with low inertia. Some of the components used in the construction of these motors include windings, rotor shaft, motor feedback, laminated core with permanent magnets, and blocking brake which is optional for some motors.
