The MDC3.20C/MM-0 is a permanent-magnet direct-current motor designed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MDC DC Motors series. It converts a controlled DC supply into rotary mechanical power for automated equipment such as web tensioners, indexing tables, and material-handling drives. When integrated with a matched electronic converter, the motor delivers stable low-speed performance and high momentary overload capability, supporting precise positioning and velocity regulation in production lines.
The motor provides a continuous shaft output of 16 Nm while drawing a steady armature current of 22 A. It has a torque constant of 0.8 Nm/A, indicating the relationship between armature current and motor torque. During operation, the winding generates a back electromotive force based on a voltage constant of 0.8 Vs/rad, which the drive must offset to maintain the commanded speed. Short-term load peaks can be handled because the armature accepts up to 200 A. The insulation tolerates a commutated voltage of 170 V without electrical breakdown.
