The MCS070-3S-0120-NNNN is a passive secondary section produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the MCS Linear Motors series. Used as the secondary part in an ironless linear motor system, it mounts along the travel path to provide the magnetic track that works with the primary coil. Within an automation cell, the part supports contact-free thrust generation for pick-and-place gantries, cutting heads, or high-speed shuttles. Because it carries no coils or cables, it keeps moving mass low and eliminates cable fatigue. That arrangement also lets the energized primary remain on the moving carriage while the secondary stays fixed to the machine base.

The secondary plate is assigned frame size 070, which matches a standardized carriage width for consistent stator overlap. Its weight of 3.0 kg keeps inertial load on the drive low during rapid acceleration. A body length of 120 mm sets the active magnetic window, and a width of 49.5 mm across the guiding surface sets the mating footprint against the machine bed. The preferred method uses screws inserted from the active side. For through-bolted layouts, Variant 1 uses holes with a diameter of 8.5 mm. Where a blind tapped hole is required, Variant 2 uses an M8 internal thread with a maximum insertion depth of 12 mm. Proper insertion depth prevents the fastener from bottoming in the threaded version, and both mounting variants use the same general footprint on the supporting surface.
