Product Description:
The MCP070D-V050-NI-N0CD-NNLD is an ironless linear motor primary part produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MCP Linear Motors series. As a moving-coil unit, it generates direct thrust along a permanent-magnet secondary track to position carriages and tooling in assembly cells, pick-and-place gantries, and high-speed packaging axes without the backlash or compliance of mechanical transmissions. Connected to a suitable servo drive, the coil converts commanded phase currents into precise linear force for accurate and rapid automation tasks. The ironless layout also supports smooth travel where low cogging and responsive motion are important.
At its nominal operating point, the coil produces a continuous force of 286 N while dissipating 206.7 W of copper loss through natural convection. When short acceleration bursts are required, it can generate up to 1144 N, provided the drive supplies pulse currents within the thermal limits of the winding. Those thrust levels correspond to a force constant of 102.1 N/A, so only 2.8 A is needed to reach the continuous rating. The electromagnetic circuit produces a back electromotive force of 59.0 Vs/m at 20 °C, and the drive must therefore maintain a DC link of 300 VDC to preserve voltage margin at higher speeds. Winding parameters of 10 mH inductance and 13.2 Ω resistance influence current rise and copper loss during dynamic motion. Because it does not use Hall sensors, the motor relies on drive-side encoder feedback for commutation.
Thermal behavior is characterized by a time constant of 4.0 min, allowing the motor to respond to changing loads without excessive temperature rise. The drive may command up to 11.2 A during peak events for brief demand changes. Under rated conditions, the mover reaches a nominal travel speed of 180 m/min, whereas operation at maximum continuous force limits velocity to 50 m/min. The motor has frame length D, motor size 070, and an I-shaped mounting plate that attaches directly to lightweight carriages. A 30 mm pole width matches the magnet track, and the 1.95 kg moving mass helps keep axis inertia low during fast direction changes.
