Product Description:
The MCP030D-V180-NI-L0CN-NNNN is an ironless linear motor coil manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MCP Linear Motors series. As an air-core secondary element, it slides along a permanent-magnet track to create direct linear thrust for precision gantries, pick-and-place heads, and semiconductor stages. Eliminating iron from the mover reduces magnetic attraction forces and cogging. This design allows the drive controller to produce smooth, high-resolution motion for industrial automation processes that require repeatable positioning. Direct linear operation also removes the need for rotary-to-linear transmission components, reducing mechanical complexity in applications with rapid and repetitive travel.
The coil has a front cable exit, which keeps the service loop aligned with the direction of travel and minimizes conductor stress over long duty cycles. Thermal energy generated by the windings is dissipated through natural convection. No fan or liquid cooling circuit is integrated, so the mover remains lightweight for fast acceleration and responsive direction changes. Power is supplied by a shared DC link operating at 300 VDC, matching the intermediate voltage used by compatible Rexroth servo drives. A built-in Hall sensor block provides coarse position information when the system starts. Its digital output sequence also supplies the commutation phase information required by the controller before precise position feedback becomes available.
The size code of 030 indicates the coil width and height, allowing the mover to be paired with magnet plates that have a matching footprint. A frame length of D provides an extended winding depth for greater peak force capacity without changing the external mounting rails. The motor is supplied with no special coatings, encoders, or brake modules. Its standard configuration keeps the coil focused on direct thrust generation while allowing separate machine components to provide any additional sensing or holding functions. Mechanical attachment uses an I-shaped housing, enabling the coil to be clamped to linear bearings with a symmetrical bolt pattern. This mounting arrangement preserves an open channel beneath the mover so air can circulate around the housing during operation. The balanced attachment points also distribute mounting forces across the coil body without obstructing its path along the permanent-magnet track.
