Product Description:
The MCP025D-V180-NI-N0CN-NNNN linear motor is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MCP Linear Motors series. Acting as the traveling primary section of a forcer-track pair, it converts regulated current into direct linear thrust for positioning stages, gantry axes, and shuttle systems used in industrial automation. By eliminating screw drives or belt transmissions, the motor supports friction-free motion along a permanent-magnet rail, and it is intended to be powered from an external servo amplifier that provides a stabilized DC bus for accurate motion control. Because thrust is generated directly at the moving element, backlash from mechanical transmission components is avoided and axis response remains quick during rapid indexing.
The unit operates from a bus potential of 300 VDC, keeping conductor size moderate while supplying the electromagnetic force required by mid-range loads. Coil heat is removed by natural convection, so no fans or liquid manifolds are necessary and the moving assembly remains free of auxiliary cooling hardware. Power and feedback cables exit at the front of the housing, letting the energy chain follow the axis with a minimal bend radius and supporting straightforward routing along compact machine frames. Installation uses an I-shape mounting interface that aligns the motor with standard carrier plates. The active coil stack uses frame length D, providing a balance between continuous force rating and moving mass for compact, high-duty cycles. This layout is useful where moving mass must be kept controlled and where service space around the axis is limited.
As an MCP Ironless Linear Motor, the forcer contains no iron laminations, so detent force is nearly zero and velocity ripple remains low during precision scans. This ironless design helps the axis move smoothly at low speed and supports short, precise travel in applications that are sensitive to cogging. The low magnetic attraction also helps minimize periodic force variation as the carriage moves along the magnet track. It is well suited to pick-and-place modules, inspection lines, and lightweight packaging equipment that require smooth acceleration, repeatable positioning, and direct linear motion without intermediate transmission elements.
