MAF180C-0150-FQ-C0-KH0-35-N1 is an asynchronous motor and just like the other asynchronous motors, its rotor does not rotate at the same speed as the magnetic field generated by the stator. It operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where alternating current (AC) in the stator creates a rotating magnetic field. This magnetic field induces a current in the rotor, which generates torque and causes the rotor to spin.

In addition, it has a mass of 322 kg as the holding brakes are not present. The cooling system of this motor features liquid cooling with a connection thread of 1/2 which means that the cooling system uses connectors with a 1/2-inch thread size and it has an incremental encoder that produces 2048 increments to send accurate information about the position and rotation of the rotor to the shaft control system.
